Technical Production Manager
Part-time — approximately 3 days/week
Based in Paris or Italy
We are looking for a Technical Production Manager to oversee the production of our furniture and collectible design pieces from technical development through fabrication, shipping and final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical drawings, specifications and production documents
- Translate design intent into clear, fabrication-ready information
- Coordinate directly with fabricators, workshops and suppliers, particularly in Italy
- Request and negotiate quotes and track production costs
- Manage production schedules and deadlines across multiple projects
- Follow prototypes and pieces through fabrication and finishing
- Conduct and coordinate quality control
- Own shipping and logistics from workshop to final destination
- Coordinate freight forwarders, couriers, art shippers and installers
- Organize crating, packing, pickups and deliveries
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, commercial invoices and customs/export paperwork
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, damages or customs issues
- Coordinate installations and final delivery with clients and project teams
- Maintain organized records of specifications, costs, shipping documents and project status
- Troubleshoot technical and production issues independently and communicate solutions clearly
Profile
- Strong technical drawing and furniture fabrication knowledge
- Experience working directly with workshops and manufacturers
- Experience coordinating international shipping and logistics
- Understanding of crating, freight, customs and import/export processes
- Strong knowledge of materials, detailing and fabrication processes
- Highly organized and able to independently manage multiple projects
- Comfortable taking ownership and solving problems without constant direction
- Fluent Italian and English required
- French is a plus
- Background in furniture, product design, interiors, architecture or a related field preferred
